Precipitation

Some parts of Coastal Washington get a LOT of rain. Forks is the wettest town in the state with nearly 120 in/yr of precipitation and Centralia holds the record for most rainy days in a row: 58 days straight in 1961.(Source)

Other parts are fairly dry. These facts are not unrelated. Forks is on the rainy side of the Olympic mountain range and Sequim is in the rain shadow of the same. The mountains squeeze rain out of clouds as they force the clouds to go up and over the mountains, causing it to rain a lot on one side and relatively little on the other.

If you like maps, there is a terrific map of average annual rainfall for the state HERE.

Footnote

I've seen figures for Aberdeen as low as 67 inches per year and as high as 96 inches. Wikipedia says it's just shy of 85 inches of precipitation annually.

The above data is taken from bestplaces.net in part because Wikipedia is not consistent. Sometimes it lists climate data for a city and sometimes it doesn't.

BestPlaces.net also provided readily legible figures for rainfall and snowfall rather than one overarching number for precipitation. Breaking it down to rainfall and snowfall will be more meaningful information for most people.
